I’m not someone who believes in buying dozens of organizers just because they’re aesthetically pleasing or are trending on social media.

At Make Simple, my philosophy is simple: buy organizers only after you’ve decluttered, and only if they genuinely make your home easier to maintain.

Over the years, I’ve tried countless organizing products, but there are a handful from IKEA that I find myself recommending repeatedly to clients. They’re practical, durable and surprisingly versatile.

Here are my favourites.

1. KOMPLEMENT Scarf Organizer

You might think it’s only meant for scarves, but I’ve used it for so much more.

Some of my favourite uses include:

  • Scarves and stoles

  • Dupattas ( by folding them to reduce their length)

  • Belts

  • Ties

  • Tank tops and camisoles

This organizer is a great way to utilize the hanging vertical space of your wardrobe; thus, emptying some space on the shelves. I love the fact that it is designed so beautifully that it can hold 18 items together.

It comes in very handy while organizing drawers.

Instead of having one big, messy drawer, you can sort the different items based on their category, using SKUBB box set of 6.

A Few Thoughts Before You Buy

One of the biggest misconceptions about organizing is that buying organizers automatically creates an organized home.

It doesn’t.

Good organization starts with decluttering. Once you’ve decided what truly deserves space in your home, the right organizers simply make those systems easier to maintain.

That’s exactly how I approach every organising project at Make Simple. I don’t recommend products because they’re trendy—I recommend them because I’ve seen them work in real homes with real families.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by where to begin, take the next step with Make Simple:

2. SAMLA Box with Lid

These are transparent, stackable boxes with lids that help protect your belongings from dust and moisture.

I commonly recommend them for storing:

  • Festive decorations

  • Memorabilia

  • Children’s keepsakes

  • Hobby supplies

  • Toolbox supplies

  • Gardening supplies

What I love about the SAMLA boxes is that because they are transparent, you don’t need to keep opening multiple containers to find what you're looking for. They also come in various sizes, so you can pick the right size that suits your requirement.

These are my go-to organizers for organizing any storeroom since they stack up so beautifully on metal racks.

3. SKUBB Handbag Organizer

Many handbags lose their shape simply because they’re stacked one over another. The SKUBB handbag organizer allows each bag to stand separately while taking up very little wardrobe space.

I particularly recommend it for:

  • Everyday handbags

  • Clutches

  • Small sling bags

  • Travel pouches

It keeps bags dust-free and helps preserve their shape. I also particularly love it because it helps utilize the vertical space of your wardrobe.

4. VUKU Wardrobe

If you are someone who needs a dedicated space to hang your worn clothes, not dirty enough to be washed but not so fresh to go back into the wardrobe, then you need yourself a VUKU wardrobe. You can hang your clothes in a VUKU wardrobe to air them, instead of dumping them on a chair. This wardrobe comes with a zip cover that protects your clothes from dust too.

The VUKU wardrobe is one of my favourite recommendations for:

  • Student accommodation

  • Guest rooms

  • Temporary living arrangements

It’s lightweight, affordable, easily movable and surprisingly spacious.

You can even use a VUKU wardrobe to hang seasonal winter wear. Since it comes with a cover, you can be rest assured that your seasonal wear will not catch any dust.

5. SKUBB Box Set of 6

If you’ve ever opened a drawer and struggled to find socks, innerwear or accessories, this organizer is for you.

The SKUBB Box Set of 6 is a versatile organizer that comes in different sizes. I use it most often during wardrobe organizing sessions. You can choose the right sized box to sort the item as per your requirement.

I use it to organize:

  • Socks

  • Undergarments

  • Belts

  • Jewelry

  • Handkerchiefs/Napkins

  • Baby clothes

  • Hair accessories
